Real World Blues

I've been a little distracted lately, mainly with two broken toes on my right foot, which is why I haven't updated lately.  However they are almost healed and I can sit almost comfortably at my desk for long enough to type so I thought I'd throw up a quick update.

For this one I have a few more Orc ships for Uncharted Seas to show off:

 The Slaughter class Flagship
Impaler class Destroyers, they have special rules for salvaging an repairing themselves so I tried to give the sails a repaired look to compliment the hulls.

As with all the updated fleet models from Spartan Games, these are a big improvement on the old models and I really liked the painting process on them.

I hope you like them.

Next time out there will be a pretty big update with lots of Pulp City minis as Ive not only been comfort eating whilst my broken toes have been healing, but also comfort painting and PC minis have been my drug of choice.  There will also be some more of Charlie and Richard's commissions coming soon, but I need the weather to sort itself out and give me a couple of dry days to get the varnishing done first.

So until next time, take care.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. These models are looking really nice and I like the patchwork sails.

How does the game play? I've been eyeing the Spartan Games stuff but haven't had a chance to play yet.

Thanks guys.

Pete W - I really like Uncharted Seas, the game plays fast and brutal and I particularly like the fact that even the smallest frigate can take out a battleship of flagship with a good/lucky set of dice rolls.

I should also point out that if you like US, playing Dystopian Wars or Firestorm Armada is a simple jump as the rules are fundamentally the same.

Nice. Does it have the 'exploding D6' mechanic they put into Dystopian wars? It sounds like a fun game.

Perhaps I can get a few people from my FLGS to get into the game and enjoy it.

Pete W - Yep, 'sploding 6s are in there, US was the first game Spartan brought out so Firestorm & Dystopian were built around the same mechanics.
